Welcome to the information and registration page of the Jury Symposium 2010 for academics and practitioners actively involved in jury research. The aims of this symposium are to bring together academics and practitioners from a range of disciplines including law, criminology, psychology, social sciences and humanities to explore the most recent developments in jury research. The Jury Research Symposium will take place at the Institute for Advanced Studies on Thursday 25th and Friday 26th March 2010. The keynote speaker, Prof Cheryl Thomas recently reported to the Ministry of Justice on a large study of jurors and juries in the UK. Her report can be accessed here.
The symposium is organised by Rhonda Wheate, Michael Bromby and Rachel McPherson and sponsored by the Institute for Advanced Studies, the Institute for Society & Social Justice Research and Glasgow Caledonian University.
Registration
Attendance is free and open to all academics and practitioners involved in jury research. Registration has now closed, but furher information can be sought by email to the organisers: Rhonda Wheate or Michael Bromby.

An evening reception will be held at the City Chambers in Glasgow on Thursday 26th March by invitation only. Lawyers, academics and other interested parties are welcome to attend but kindly requested to contact the organisers for an invitation and further information.
